Luke 17:33- Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will keep it. God is not looking for stagnant Christians. God is not looking for bench warming Christians. God is not looking for worrisome Christians. God can not fully use you until you fully deny yourself daily and shoulder your cross. We get so caught up in our own agenda. We’re more concerned about getting an ‘A’ on a test and not concerned about our unsaved relatives. We’re more concerned about our dating lives then people in third world countries that are walking around without the Hope we have. We’re more concerned with the way our clothes look, the way our shoes look and the way our hair looks and not concerned on how the lives we live make God look. We, as Christians are representations of Jesus Christ to everyone. Look past the surface level of our family, friends, loved ones and people we interact with daily. We are still representations of Jesus Christ when we are rude and leave a bad tip to a busy waiter or waitress. We are still a representation of Jesus Christ when we roll our eyes at the new cashier at wal-mart who is having a hard time figuring out the register. We are still representations of Jesus Christ when we cut someone off on the highway and give them dirty looks. We’re representations of Jesus Christ when there are people on your hall, in your homes, at your school who are dying and going to hell. We’re so wrapped up in our own little Christian bubble that we don’t do anything about it. Let’s be real and go past the surface level Christianity, get past the “Yeah, I pray, “Yeah I read the Bible,” And “Yeah, I go to Church” mentality. Those things are great and absolutely vital into Christian growth but when are we doing to start doing the things we read in the Bible into practice? When are we finally going to run with the revelation God gave us through prayer a week ago, a month ago, a year ago? When are we going to actually put into action the words of the pastor instead of just saying, “that was a good word” and going on with our little lives? When are we going to break out of that bubble? When are we going to escape our comfort zones where everything is so easy and actually get in the game? I first have to warn you, before you make any decision that today is going to be the day you make the change. I have to tell you… it’s going to ruin your life. God is going to put you into situations you are not going to want to be in. You’re going to say things you don’t want to say. You’re going to do things you don’t want to do. It’s going to ruin your life. You’re going to be ridiculed, persecuted, lied on, stabbed in the back, mocked and cussed out. You’re going to be broken-hearted, torn apart and frustrated because as soon as you make that decision to ruin your life for Jesus, the devil is going to attack you anyway he can. If you feel like the devil isn’t truly after you, trying to lie, cheat, steal and kill his way into your life, there is a reason. It’s because you’re simply not a threat to him. You can never lose your salvation and I am not preaching salvation through works. I am preaching the more anointed you are and the harder you are chasing after the heart of God, the more the devil will try to get into your way anyway he can. So before you make the decision to ruin your life for Jesus, know that you are going to do things that you really don’t want to do and that the devil is going to be after you in new and radical ways. Bu there is hope. You might still be confused with the ruin your life theology because our God is a God who gives life and gives it in abundance, which he does, I am not saying any different. I am saying YOUR life will be ruined. Your dreams, your goals and literally, your life need to put on the side and you need God in the center. Let me explain it as clearly as I know how to: First, to the ladies: All the Godly women out here. I want to know why there are so many beautiful Godly women serving the Lord and so many Godly men are still single. I’ll tell you why right now. It’s because a lot of Godly women don’t want a man of God to lead you. Or maybe you do, but not “right now.” Right now, you want a man with a 6-pac, a nice ride and clean clothes. Someone who can take you to nice places, say nice things and simply wine you and dine you. That seems like a small price to pay to get a man who doesn’t love you, doesn’t know God and isn’t making much of an effort to do either. Women of God, ruin your life for Jesus. Men of God don’t think you’re getting of the hook. What are the qualities you’re truly looking for in women? Is it someone with an hour glass body? Nice smile? Nice eyes? Nice hair? A total dime? Whatever happened to desiring and yearning for a woman with virtue in her heart? Out of all those traits I listed, isn’t that the only one that is going to last? Men of God, ruin your lives for Jesus. Maybe you’re already saved, maybe you’ve already been baptized, maybe you’re sanctified but there are still desires and for lack of better words BS that is your flesh is clinging onto. Don’t let that live in you for another day. Give it to God. Plead the blood of Jesus over those things. It is going to cost you your life but you you’re going to gain Christ, which is more valuable then it all. |
